There are so many reasons why I love New York City, and the soundtrack is way u there. I usually enter the underground with naked ears, bringing along no music for my travels. I think this is because my mom warned me so many times about being "alert" as I walk around the city alone, or that I usually bring Gracie with me and we like to talk to each other. Either way, I rarely bring headphones. 
It never matters though, because no matter where I am there is someone, or a small group of people, providing an array of music. Everywhere you go there is an artist bringing their craft to you for free. 
I always dig out my change to support them, as I genuinely appreciate this gesture.
Within five minutes today, on my way from Manhattan to Brooklyn, I saw these three separate musicians bringing their sound to the streets.

Aren't these mushrooms just delicious? Not always the fan of cooked mushrooms, I am a little obsessed with looking at them. They are fascinating specimens and I fell in love with these vintage prints. I shared the link with my friend Alison, and she surprised me with a care package with them in it. 
I can't wait to find the perfect spot in my kitchen for them. I am going to string some twine up and hang them by clothespins so we can look at mushrooms, even if we don't always cook with them.

For those renters out there who can't paint their living room spearmint, you can at least enjoy the hue over coffee. 
I totally love these Pantone mugs and want about a dozen of the colors for myself. They feed three of my strongest addictions, which are color, caffeine, and the need to drink my coffee out of really rad mugs.

An ever-evolving table centerpiece is one of my favorite ways to cure my design ADD. This is a lovely and simple configuration of our two swallows from Alison book-ending my ever-so-efficient aloe plant.
Use your aloe plant on cuts or burns for an all-natural healing gel.

I can't believe how many times it has snowed this season. Luckily, I am working from our warm and cozy home.

Okay, this is the cutest dog bed I have ever seen. Followed closely by this loveliness. 
I wish I had money to buy Gracie yet another bed, but I just can't justify it when she already has more snuggly surfaces than any baby I know. 
And these organic hemp toys are adorable too. Gracie would love these, as she can not get enough of her own suitcase filled with squeaky toys. 
Her proudest moments are when friends come over and she proceeds to get out each and every toy she owns to show them.
